Look, we're not gonna pretend these rooms are like anything you've stayed in before. When you're sleeping in a manor that's been around since 1847, there's just something different about it. The wood creaks in the right places, the windows frame views that haven't changed in centuries, and honestly? That's exactly what people come here for. We've kept all the character but added the stuff you actually need - proper wifi, comfortable beds, and bathrooms that work like they should.
Most places just have decorative fireplaces sitting there looking pretty. Not here. We've maintained and certified every single one, so when Victoria gets that damp chill (and it will), you can actually use 'em. There's something about reading a book next to a fire that's been warming this building since the 1800s - it's oddly grounding.
Wood's provided, instructions are simple, and yeah - we've got central heating too for when you don't feel like playing pioneer.
Look, we could've gone the easy route and stuck modern showers in all the rooms. Instead, we tracked down authentic clawfoot tubs, had 'em restored, and paired them with rainfall showers. Best of both worlds - vintage character without sacrificing what you actually need.
The toiletries are locally sourced from Vancouver Island artisans. None of that generic hotel soap - this stuff's actually worth taking home (and we don't mind if you do).
The furniture isn't just old - it's original to the manor or period-appropriate pieces we've sourced from estate sales across British Columbia. That writing desk? Used to belong to a provincial magistrate. The armoire in the Chancellor Suite? Sailed around Cape Horn in 1852.
We've got the provenance documents for most pieces, and honestly, guests spend more time than you'd think just examining the craftsmanship. They don't make stuff like this anymore - literally.
